Black Velvet Alocasia
Black Velvet Alocasia
The Alocasia is renowned for its stunning, intricate leaves, and the Black Velvet is no different! This magnificent plant is in a constant cycle of shedding and growing, with a velvety texture that is sure to make a statement.
Alocasias, similar to their Colocasia and Caladium relatives, are affectionately known as "Elephant Ears." Their distinctive, shield-shaped foliage features a plethora of unique textures and colors, making rare varieties a coveted find for avid collectors. These plants may pose a challenge compared to other members of the Arum family, as they thrive in high humidity, typically produce only 3-5 leaves per delicate stem, and have a less forgiving temperament. They prefer bright indirect light with some gentle morning rays, and thrive when given a thorough watering followed by a nearly complete dry out.
