According to Chinese traditions, the significance of lucky bamboo is tied to how many stalks you have. There are different meanings associated with various lucky bamboo arrangements. For example:

  • Two stalks represent love.
  • Three stalks represent Fu (happiness), Lu (wealth), and Soh (long life).*
  • Five stalks represent balance, peace, harmony, and power in all areas of your life.

While it may resemble bamboo and have rapid growth (often over a foot in six months), this plant is in fact not related to bamboo and is considered more of a succulent.

As a novice plant enthusiast or a forgetful waterer, you'll appreciate Lucky Bamboo's nearly indestructible nature. To ensure its thriving, you'll need to properly adjust its light and water levels. Remember to use high-quality water for easy care and maintenance of Lucky Bamboo.

Ensure your lucky bamboo receives bright, filtered sunlight like what can be found under a rainforest canopy. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorching. If you notice the plant stretching or losing color, provide more light and rotate it regularly to ensure even coverage. Remember, lucky bamboo is more tolerant of low light than excessive light.

For optimal growth, use a well-drained, nutrient-rich potting soil for your lucky bamboo. Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid overwatering. To ensure the health of your lucky bamboo, it is best to water it with bottled or distilled water, or let tap water sit out for 24 hours to allow any chlorine or chemicals to dissipate.

Be aware that this plant is not lucky for pets because it's toxic to cats and dogs.

*Each plant in stock has 3 stalks.
